Mitchell, Gaikwad, and Deshpande shine in a major victory.
CSK’s 78-run victory moves them up to No. 3 on the standings. On points, they are even with SRH and LSG. Here’s a sneak peek at our final report before we go. We appreciate you being here.
Mitchell has a magnetic ball
Five of the nine wickets that have fallen have been caught by Daryl Mitchell. For any of those, he hasn’t needed to move more than a few feet.
Does SRH have an issue with Chasing?
When batting first, SRH has averaged nearly 40 runs per wicket at a rate of 11.74 per over. However, they have only taken 8.85 per over while chasing and have lost wickets at a rate of 25 apiece. When batting first, they have four wins and one loss.
This is their third loss in four chase attempts. As a result, SRH, LSG, and CSK will share third place with 10 points apiece. After shattering so many records, they would not have anticipated to be in such a mess.
Klaasen goes
I mean the game was over long ago, but you can never be sure these days. With Heinrich Klaasen gone, though, the 96 required off 25 balls is next to impossible. Pathirana has struck again. Klaasen has to go deep into the crease to get under this Yorker, but he still can’t get enough power and elevation behind it. Caught at long-on.
Middle-overs squeeze
In 8.4 overs since the end of the powerplay, there have been three boundaries. With five wickets remaining, they now need to reach 105 in 32 balls.
Pathirana takes out Markram
Ever since the powerplay, CSK has been in the clear. Not that they weren’t before, but since the powerplay ended, there has just been one boundary in over five overs. And to cap it all off, Matheesha Pathirana hit Aiden Markram’s middle stump with a stunning Yorker. 85 for 5 at SRH in 10.5 overs.
Jadeja bounces out Reddy
Because Ravindra Jadeja is interested in the game, CSK has an advantage. He hasn’t given up a single boundary in his second over. Even in his mistakes, the pressure is evident. Though he intends to turn the ball forcefully, he drags it down instead. After Reddy wins the toss, SRH reaches 72 for 4 in 8.5 overs. Their chances of winning have dropped to 4%.
