Activities
- Oversee the development and execution of category strategy, regularly review operating performance metrics and drive corrective measures as required
- Track relevant market trends regarding suppliers, price, and cost to develop a solid understanding of the market landscape for the category
- Collaborate with Merchandising team on category specific marketing, communications, promotions, supply, and brand strategy to maximize long-term opportunities and develop competitive advantages that boost sales
- Oversee sourcing and buying activities across all sub-categories (including imported products) to ensure product availability, consistent product quality and efficient supply/inventory planning
- Oversee farmer development-related activities including farmer trainings across all sub-categories to ensure efficient and high-quality product sourcing from established farmers
- Oversee management of F&V CPC warehouse operations, coordination of asset creation activities as well as transport coordination activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to constantly monitor product decisions, pricing policy, channel mix,
- sales strategy, stock management, merchandising and advertising strategy to improve sales and gross margin
- Drive category product launches while managing resources within budget guidelines
- Manage supplier / vendor / farmer relationship management strategies to source the desired product assortment in terms of type and quality, improve profit margins, achieve market differentiation while optimizing supplier NPS
- Oversee technological, data and platform development initiatives for F&V Category P&L team to improve business performance and achieve P&L team’s financial / operational targets
- Oversee execution of HR policies relevant for their team including hiring decisions and performance management
- Lead, motivate and mentor direct reports beyond immediate functional responsibility to improve employee NPS and nurture talent
- Be a role model for employees by aligning actions and day-to-day behaviours in accordance with Reliance Retail values.
Decisions
- Decide Buy Plan for F&V products
- Decide terms of trade guardrails for the Buyers
- Recommend business opportunities to the Category Business Owner
- Input into the category business strategy and oversee the execution
- Input into category marketing strategy to boost sales growth and market sales
- Input into the product launches and product developments to increase market performance
- Decide which individuals to hire to the Category team
- Decide on performance appraisals for direct team members on the Category team
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: ₹1,000,000.00 – ₹1,400,000.00 per year
