New Delhi, August 28, 2026: A new Amrit Bharat Express service connecting Gorakhpur and Mumbai has begun operations, strengthening rail connectivity between eastern Uttar Pradesh and western India.
The new service is expected to provide another travel option for passengers travelling between the two regions and will connect several important railway stations along the route.
The launch comes as Indian Railways continues to expand and modernise its long-distance passenger network.
Amrit Bharat services are designed to provide improved passenger amenities while maintaining an affordable fare structure.
The new connection is particularly significant for workers, students and families travelling between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Indian Railways has been progressively introducing new trains and increasing capacity on busy routes in response to rising passenger demand.
