Air India’s low cost subsidiary, Air India Express has unveiled a new low-cost offering aimed at catering to the needs of budget-conscious travelers. The airline has introduced special Xpress Lite fares, which are tailored for passengers traveling without check-in baggage.
The introduction of Xpress Lite fares is a strategic move by the airline to provide more flexibility and cost-effectiveness to its customers. With these fares, passengers can enjoy the convenience of traveling with only cabin baggage while benefiting from lower-than-regular fares, making air travel even more accessible to a wider audience.
One of the key highlights of the Xpress Lite fares is the inclusion of a standard cabin baggage allowance of seven kilograms, which passengers will be able to carry onboard without the need for additional checked baggage. Passengers opting for Xpress Lite fares will also have the option to pre-book an additional three kilograms of cabin baggage complimentary during the booking process.
In October, the Air India’s low cost subsidiary said it wants to focus on routes where travelers look for budget fares and don’t require free meals, it will stress on ancillary revenue and have competitive pricing like any other budget carrier. Moreover, it plans to do codeshares with Air India and benefit from its vast network.
