New Delhi, August 28, 2026: India has stepped up humanitarian assistance to Nepal following devastating flash floods along the Nepal-China border region.
Indian authorities have dispatched relief supplies, medicines, food packets and emergency equipment as rescue operations continue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with Nepal’s leadership and assured India’s support. India has also deployed relief material through military transport aircraft as the humanitarian situation develops.
The disaster has affected infrastructure connecting Nepal and Tibet, including roads, bridges and power facilities. Several Indian citizens are also among those reported missing or stranded.
Indian state governments have established helplines and coordination mechanisms to assist families searching for relatives caught in the disaster.
The situation remains fluid as rescue teams work through damaged areas while authorities monitor additional flood risks from water accumulation in upstream lakes.
