Japanese automaker Nissan on Wednesday said it will hike prices of its vehicles in India by up to 5 percent across models from next month.
Introduction
The company sells a range of mass market vehicles under the Datsun and Nissan brands, including Datsun Redi-Go, newly launched SUV Magnite and Kicks, with prices in the range of Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs 14.15 lakh.
Reason for hike in price
It has stated that the price increase will be undertaken due to the increased costs.
The prices of both the Nissan and Datsun models will be hiked by up to 5 percent.
And it is applicable for all Nissan and Datsun models being sold in India.
Exemption for newly launched
The company has recently introduced the compact SUV – Magnite in December 2020 at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
All bookings for Nissan Magnite done till 31st Dec 2020, will get the benefit of existing prices.
Deliveries of Magnite will start by next month.
Decrease in price
Currently, under the Datsun brand, the company retails the redi-GO, Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ in manual as well as automatic gearbox options.
As company has decided to increase the price at the same time Nissan and Datsun are offering various models at reduced prices up to Rs 65,000 in December 2020.

Rakesh Srivastava , “In the current challenging market conditions, we are constrained to increase the price of all Nissan and Datsun models due to increased costs.
The proposed price increase will be effective from January 2021.”
