Reliance Jio moved high court against vandalism of mobile towers in Punjab, Haryana

Reliance  Jio on Monday approached the High Court against the vandalism of its towers in Punjab and Haryana.

It urges the Punjab government to intervene and stop the continuous vandalism of its infrastructure in the state. 

He also claims that vandalism has endangered the lives of its employees and disrupted its communication setup.

Total Outage

Jio claims the outage of 1,504 Jio towers in Punjab which represents 15 per cent of the total number.

While, In Haryana total of 85 outage of Jio towers reported.

Petition filed by RIL

“Reliance Industries Limited have not done any corporate or contract farming in the past, and have absolutely no plans to enter the business.

Neither Reliance nor any of our subsidiaries has purchased any agricultural land, directly or indirectly, in Punjab and Haryana or anywhere else in India, for the purpose of corporate or contract farming.

We have absolutely no plans to do so.” –Business Standard.

Comment from Jio

“The target of the campaign was to disrupt the tower services and leverage these disruptions to promote mobile number portability to other networks.

evidences clearly and unimpeachably demonstrate the direct involvement of channel partners of Airtel and VIL in these disruptions as well as Airtel and VIL’s (Vodafone Idea) ineffectiveness in controlling them”.
