The voting for the 32-member Sikkim assembly will be held in a single phase, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Saturday. As per the announcement, voters will cast their votes on April 19. The counting of the votes will take place on June 4, announced chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar. The term of the current assembly elected in 2019 will expire on June 2, 2024.

Citizen Action Party (New Competitor)
Citizen Action Party uphold for Sikkim is one that assures that every Sikkimese is guaranteed her/ his rights as per the Constitution of India. To create a society that caters to bring the best out of each individual and provide equal opportunities for holistic development of every individual and all- round development of our society in keeping with the global goals for sustainable development.
Objective of CAP
1. To preserve, protect and defend the unity, sovereignty and integrity of India while upholding the Constitutional values of India. It shall aim to safeguard the rights and the distinct identity of the Sikkimese people guaranteed by the Article 371F.
2. To ensure well-being and advancement of the Sikkimese people, to create a fair and just society where there is equality of opportunity and of political, economic and social rights.
3. To sustain vibrant economy of ensuring economic well-being of all, better job opportunities and standard lives for the Sikkimese people. It will focus at bringing financial independence and achieve full potential of Sikkimese people.
4. To deepen democracy and its values by strengthening Local Self Governments at the highest level. The party aims to restore power to the people at the highest level.
5. In pursuit of establishing an inclusive and unbiased society, ensure the representation of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) and differently-able communities in every level and unit of the organization.
6. To work for the conservation of environment to ensure its sustainability.
7. To endeavor to promote peace, unity, communal harmony and gender equality among the Sikkimese people. It will practice tolerance at the highest level and resolve every issue of public interest through proper dialogues, debates and discussions.
