1. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uranium Akademi (IGRUA)

IGRUA is one of the renowned institutes in our country. It is one of the oldest and best aviation schools in India with an amazing reputation. This institute has trained some of the best pilots and continues to train efficient pilots. Admission to this institution is not everyone’s cup of tea. Applicants are admitted on the basis of a two-hour written test, followed by an aptitude test and a panel interview. This institute uses various aircraft such as TB-20, Zlín, DA-40 and DA-42 for training candidates. The courses offered are:
     1. Commercial Pilot License (CPL),
     2. Simulator training according to the candidate’s requirements,
    3. Multi-engine clause
    4. Instrumental assessment,
    5. CRM workshop,
    6. MCC course
    7. Course for foreigners

2. Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC)


The Madhya Pradesh Flying Club was established in 1951. For the first 31 years, until 1982, it operated under the Government of Madhya Pradesh and maintained government aircraft and aircraft. The Madhya Pradesh Flying Club also works in collaboration with the Indian Air Force to train fighter pilots. The club has become one of the most popular aviation schools in India and the basic qualification for commercial pilot training is a 10+2 education along with passing a class I fitness test. 3. National Flying Training Institute (NFTI)


Next on our list of best flight schools in India is the National Flying Training Institute, also known as CAE Gondia. It is jointly owned by CAE and the Airports Authority of India. It is one of the most popular pilot training institutes in the country. The institute follows the standards set by the DGCA and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The basic eligibility criteria for candidates is merit in 10+2 system followed by medical test with DGCA certification. The courses offered are:
       1. Aircraft pilot training
       2. Commercial pilot training
       3. Helicopter pilot training
       4. Aviation maintenance training
       5. Cabin crew
       6. Aerial platform

4. Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd. (AAA)

Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics Ltd was established in 1994 and is considered as one of the best aviation schools in India. The club focuses on turning candidates into top pilots. The club also owns its own hangar, Mehsana Airfield at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Ahmedabad International Airport. They also own a large fleet of training aircraft including a single engine Cessna 152. Courses offered here:
     1. Land class for the CPL course
     2. Commercial pilot license
     3. Private pilot license
     4. Aspirant pilot license
     5. Instructor evaluation
     6. Compilation of flight hours

5. Bombay Flying Club


Bombay Flying Club, one of the best flying schools in India, was established in 1928. Mr. JRD Tata, the founder of Bombay Flying Club, was the first to obtain a commercial pilot’s license from the institute. The institute is today affiliated to Mumbai University and DGCA. Bombay Flying Clubs is also equipped with some of the best aircraft including Cessna 152A, PIPER PA18, Seneca etc.  The basic qualification for commercial pilot training is 10+2 education along with passing class I proficiency test. Candidates can also apply for BSc in Aviation. The courses offered here are:
     1. Commercial pilot license
     2. Aircraft maintenance technique
     3. Aviation degree BSc
     4. Aviation degree BSc
     5. Hobby Flying – Executive PPL
     6. Remotely piloted aircraft system (drones) courses
